“Insideoutmosphere” Live
This sound-art performance will primarily explore drone and soundscape compositions, weaving immersive sonic environments through a signature blend of modular synthesis, Persian instruments, and improvisation. Featuring a sonic landscape grounded in deep resonances, ethereal textures, and environmental sound design (while utilizing a mix of analog and digital tools, including modular synthesizers, out-of-tune Persian instruments, and real-time audio manipulation) Insideoutmosphere will create a visceral experience that taps into the felt phenomenology of sound and its relationship to both physical and emotional space.
Insideoutmosphere is a Los Angeles-based sound-art duo, consisting of Reza Monahan and Marcus Herse. Their practice fuses modular synthesis, Persian instrumentation, and improvisation, blending Middle Eastern musical traditions with avant-garde noise. Their performances create immersive sonic environments where structure and spontaneity collide. Reza Monahan is an artist and filmmaker whose work spans experimental film, sound art, and speculative spatial practice. Marcus Herse, a German-born artist, musician, and curator, investigates space, time, and sensory perception.
