DOS – A Sonic Dialogue
Co-curated by Pablo Perez and Nicki Chen

Featuring: Cory Fogel, Haydeé Jiménez, Nelle J. Anderson, Chloe Villamayor, Pablo Perez, Nicki Chen

DOS is a durational sonic experience exploring sound as a form of dialogue. Throughout the evening, experimental artists and musicians engage in a series of evolving improvised duets — an ever-shifting sonic chain where each encounter leaves an imprint on the next. Each 15-minute set pairs two performers in real-time conversation through sound. After each set, one artist rotates out and a new one joins in, forming a new duo. What results is a sonic relay of transformation, contrast, tension, and resonance — not about harmony, but about exchange.

Audiences are invited to come and go throughout the evening or stay for the entire unfolding. No moment is repeated. DOS is a meditation on presence, listening, and the instability of communication.

Featured Performers:

Pablo Perez

Nicki Chen
Music is my homing signal, reaching out to old souls and those ready to look within. This is my way of finding soulmates. I’m a violist that uses improvisation to embrace instability and search for forgotten experiences and hidden energy. I invite the audience to join me in surrendering to the process of peeling back armor to reveal raw emotions without fear of judgment or imperfection.

A Fulbright Fellowship 2024 Semifinalist, she composes performance art pieces to externalize singers’ inner directives and practice-room processes, and her debut art-pop album ANY DEAD COQUETTE (Soubrette, 2021) was called “an outstanding experience” by the Recording Artists Guild.
