Punitive Worm is a performance entity of poetry, sculpture, movement, and sound. A loose poetic narrative and script is provided to players. Many elements are improvised, and each play is performed only once. Site specific and moody, Punitive Worm’s mantra is, performance is an altar and so comes God. Punitive Worm is the collaborative project of multidisciplinary artists and partners Nikki Ochoa and Mas Guerrero. A performance entity rooted in live improvisational sound. Making poetry that exists in physical space is the aim. Currently Punitive Worm explores loving irreverence through abstracted poetic narratives. We are inspired by poets of color and their ability to face disappearing with anarchist and alternative narratives brought forth by sound, sculpture, and writing.
