The subconscious & the natural world are the most commonly recurring focuses within his music & visual art, leaning into abstraction that allows both the artist & viewer to participate in reflective, inward landscapes. He has been an active participant in Deantoni Park’s Technoself School of Philosophy since 2020, which has a large influence on both his approach & output. Recent musical releases include the 2025 solo album ‘Means to a Beginning,’ & ‘Beyond the Flowered Gates.’ He has been assembling collective improvised ensembles – most recently at 2220 Arts & Archives in Los Angeles alongside Bendik Giske.

ALLOSTATE: An extension of Matthew’s previous SoundPedro performance ‘Underneath’ – Allostate is an installation that will allow listeners to draw their attention further inwards – reflecting on the passage of time & our perception of this phenomena, in light of this year’s theme – TIN. This performance will be instrumental, incorporating samples, found sound, long form electronics & drums. Textural landscapes will be created in real time to create an immersive environment, accompanied by abstract visual extractions – drawing from soundscapes new & old; familiar & unfamiliar..

On-site event June 7th

UNDERNEATH: A synesthetic influenced audiovisual performance. This performance will be all instrumental, incorporating samples, found sound, long form electronics (SOMA pipe, spdsx), percussion & drums. Textural landscapes will be created in real time to create an immersive environment, accompanied by visuals utilizing collected field recordings, in order to further draw attention to the subconscious. Engaging with this installation will allow listeners to draw their attention further inwards, towards our allostatic wells, waiting to be uncovered.
