Dreamhouse is a collaborative installation designed by Tara Zorthian and Henry Krusoe, inspired and inhabited by the dream fragments of its creators. What started as a single powerful dream and a discarded Barbie Dreamhouse will become an eerie palace of light, sound, and imagination. Each room will unfurl into a stage for jumbled symbols, apparitions, and dream logics, to appear and perform. Each dream that appears within Dreamhouse splits off from its original dreamer to cavort within a rolling live soundscape inspired by dream fragments and performed by Tara Zorthian and Janet Soomi using various instruments collected from around the world. Dreamhouse attempts to transform dreams experienced within the minds of separate individuals into a collective experience shared by many during Soundpedro and beyond. In this way, the installation explores the blurring edges between public and private space (both physical and psychological), waking and dreaming, and between synthetic and natural experiences.
