PARTICIPATION

On-site Event June 3rd

Insideoutmosphere is a sound sculpture that emerges from recording sound-deadened rooms and amplifying the results. The audio artifacts and micro noises from these exercises are turned into samples and intercut with equipment noise and additional environmental resonances. These sequences are then looped together, one-after-the-next, in a speaker-driven installation. In this instance, for FLOOD and soundpedro2023, the speakers will include a PA system comprised of two JBLs on stands and a single, large, subwoofer all helmed by a laptop and analog mixing board. The purpose of this installation is to produce a space-based piece that underscores the curvilinear, oblique and volumetric qualities of audio we hear/feel on a subliminal level. This will be done to express what I like to call “Meta-Kinesthetics,” placing the installation within traditions of the Haptic, a philosophical state of being 20th century French philosopher, Maurice Merleau-Ponty equates to “felt phenomenology.”
