soundpedro2026 Tin– Call

soundpedro2026 Tin– logo

Riffing on tin as a traditional ten-year anniversary gift, soundpedro2026 marks a decade of experiments, sonic reflections, and sensory replays with Tin–.

From the ringing edge of tinnitus to tolling tintinnabulations, this year’s theme echoes the passage of time, the persistence of sound, and the decaying thresholds between signal and noise.

SUBMISSIONS OPEN FEBRUARY 14th.

soundpedro2026 continues to explore sound intake: the encounter of any mechanism, organic or synthetic, with sound waves.

FLOOD seeks sound art installations & performances to be placed *outdoors throughout Angels Gate Cultural Center on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Work can be interactive or self-contained (e.g. sculptures, environments, installations, timed and ongoing performances, interactions, and roaming presentations).

Submissions are accepted February 14 – April 1, 2026.
Artist notification for by April 8, 2026.

*indoor works are by invitation only.

Read complete instructions before submitting. Link to submission form is at the bottom of this page.

For all Artists

  • Artists may propose projects for these modes of presentation:
    • Installation/Performance – fixed location
    • Roaming presentation
  • soundpedro will not furnish any equipment. Artists are responsible for all computers, projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, power strips, generators/batteries, cables etc. soundpedro will provide the site(s) and, in some cases, power. Sites not near buildings will not have power available. Portable batteries are a good option (Portable Power Station: https://tinyurl.com/bd73y9a4).
  • Keep in mind that Angels Gate Cultural Center can be subject to high winds and low temperatures. Please ensure that your proposed work is stable and wind tolerant. It gets dark after sunset. Artists should incorporate lighting elements if necessary.
  • Review programs from prior years on the past seasons pages.
  • Proposal Review: FLOOD will review your proposal and will email you our decision.
If we have questions, we may contact you via the email or phone number in your submission.

For Artists new to soundpedro

  • Start by reviewing the Participate page.
  • It is important that artists understand that soundpedro is a sound art event and not a music event. To know the difference, see the FAQ & FUQ page.
  • Refer to”Participating and Interested Artists” section on the FAQ & FUQ page for more information.
  • It is helpful to review the soundpedro website in order to become familiar with our programming: Explore past seasons and learn about the location.
  • If you are local, we encourage you to visit Angels Gate Cultural Center in person.

NOTE: Over the last three years with the addition of soundprints and LBsoundbrowse, the soundpedro experience has amplified into a trio of unique events. soundscapes and earmaginations will now be part of LBsoundbrowse.

If you have any questions, please check with Marco at soundpedro.ear@gmail.com or 562-413-5868 before submitting your proposal.

Day of the Event:

  • Artists or artist representatives must be onsite to install, de-install, and host the installation for the duration of the event from 10AM – 11PM.
  • Check-in time is from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM (to pick up a site number, check contact info, verify receipt of loan form, etc.)
  • De-install and check out is immediately after the event from 10PM – 11PM, NOT BEFORE, and must be completed before you leave AGCC.

  • Bring a friend/helper to attend to the installation and equipment in the event you run an errand, visit the restrooms, or wish to tour the event. DO NOT LEAVE ANY OF YOUR EQUIPMENT UNATTENDED.
